How to Sew Crochet Lace onto Cut-Offs Shorts

My absolute favorite denim cut-offs have recently became a little to cheeky, but I couldn’t bare to throw them out! An easy fix is to add lace onto the bottom of your shorts. It only takes about 20-30 minutes and cost around $10. There is a close up above of the type of lace I used.

All you need is:
– Denim Cut-Offs
– 1 1/2 yd. of lace
– Scissors
– Sewing Machine (you could also hand stich the lace)
– Pins

Step 1: On the inside seam of the shorts, pin the end of your lace. I left about a quarter of an inch border to sew on.

Step 2: Then pin the rest of the lace around the bottom of the shorts. It is easiest to do this if you turn the shorts inside-out.

Step 3: Sew the lace onto the denim. I used the edge of the foot as a marker so my hem was even all the way around my shorts.

Step 4: When you sew all the way around the short, snip the remainder of the lace so there is a quarter of an inch of lace overlapping the starting point. Then sew these two ends together to prevent ripping.

Step 5: Repeat steps 1-4 to other leg of the short.

Step 6: Ta da! Super easy fix to your favorite short-shorts!
