I love New Years. The concept of a fresh & new start is calming and exciting! Up until today, I really didn’t understand New Years – I would try to push out the positive-juices, but something about the unknown would trigger my anxiety as the clock ticked down. Although i’ve always loved celebrating, i’ve never quite known how to take on the concept of New Year’s Resolutions, or make the calendar in my head “restart” on January 1st. This is the first time, that I can remember, taking in the New Year calmly, with open arms. Here is a collection of photos that look back on 2012.

Looking back on this past year – please excuse my language – it has been pretty fucking awesome. Learning more about myself, documenting my life, and meeting new people through camp, work, and travel, has opened many doors for my future. I can not wait to move gracefully into 2013, continuing to pursue my passions but with a more clear idea of who I am and the person I strive to be as I grow.  Re-scrolling through this chronological gallery, I can’t help but cry when I think of the people who I share these memories with. You know who you are, I love you guys – thank you for supporting me through this year and Happy New Year! :)

{16th birthday}

{DTKK – Dream Team Krispy Kreme – photo taken by James}

{Exploring Little Italy with James – I love this photo}

{2-part series by James – these were really great days last spring}

{the West 18th Street Fashion Show with Chelsea and Sarah}

{Michael Booth. The last time I saw you I told you that we would probably never see each other again. I like yo eyez}

{I can see your Nishema. I just typed that and started crying. Jesse my man, there is something that is unspoken}

{Ben: I love that you wore a bandaid on your face this whole night. I don’t know why I think you are so funny or why I like you so much. Maya: I could find no picture that makes us look attractive. You inspire me every day, and you are the reason why I cry at camp. Every time. That was a complement}

{Kyra, Simone, and Danielle. Next summer is going to be the best time of our life}

{Kara, we literally prove that opposites attract. -insert inappropriate song title here- you know}

{Caroline and Ayana, I don’t know what the hell we are doing, but we are doing it right. I still can’t believe that a secret admirer paid for our meal}

Happy New Year!
