Thursday was my school’s National Art Honors Society fashion show, and this year’s theme was “Onomatopoeia.” The word I was inspired by was “sucker-punch!” For the show, I submitted four of my jewelry pieces: a silver skull ring, a bronze skull ring, a silver bolo tie, and a unicorn skull necklace. I worked for months on the outfits, but finalized it an hour before the show when I was dressing my models. Thank god I had two garment bags full of options!
I did their hair in a low, slicked-back pony tail like this, and was inspired for their make-up from Pinterest. My friend Sophia, artist and jack-of-all-trades, made my vision come true! She used eyelash glue and glitter on their eyebrows, and applied a golden smokey eye with a little liner and a lot of lash. Sophia also painted their nails vibrant blue!
I was entered in the Accessory, Styling, and Collection categories. After the runway show, each designer brought out their models and have opportunity to discuss their pieces with the judges. The judges can also ask questions! I came in 1st place for the Accessory category and was 1st runner up for the Styling category! I am so proud of my collection. Thank you everyone for being part of my team, you guys are amazing.
