I am home! This summer was amazing and went by so fast. The counselor-in-training (CIT) program I did at camp was truly life changing. I had so much support from my friends, and through them and my supervisors learned how to care for others in a way I didn’t know I could. My family and I did not think I would be excited to come home, and unexpectedly on the last day of camp I woke up and felt OK; equipped with the tools I needed to go home and figure shit out! Which is pretty cool. To think about the person I was before camp started, or even this time a year ago, is personally mind-blowing. The days were restless, challenging, and smelly, while the nights were full of life, friendship, and good conversation. My progress on the path of becoming the person I am destined to be is apparent. I am determined not to regress and I am looking forward to facing challenges in the future.
