Spring Break Bitche$$!!! This year for SB, my family and I are taking a trip to Chicago and NYC to visit Columbia College Chicago, FIT, and of course to see these two amazing cities. I haven’t been to either since I was in elementary school, so I am excited to not only remember the trips this time, but also to experience new places and foods, etc. So, for the first leg of the trip we are in Chicago. It has been pretty warm (for Chicago in March), so we’ve been doing a lot of brisk walking and taxi-riding.
We took the train into Chicago, which was a wonderful experience. It was an 8 hour train ride, definitely didn’t feel like it, and is my new favorite way to travel for cheap. After checking in at the hotel, we went for deep dish pizza – a must in Chi-town obvi! We went to Pizzeria Due, and after eating a slice, I decided I’m more of a thin-crust kinda gal ;). Inbetween the pizzeria and our hotel was Eataly. Which is heaven on earth. It is an Italian market full of restaurants, delicious treats, and a huge selection of Italian goods. I honestly could have cried and highly recommend going there when you are in Chicago (or to their other local in NYC). The next day, we went shopping and walked around on Michigan Ave. Spending most of our time in Zara and Topshop, and thoroughly enjoying the new AllSaints store. Like holy shit it was amazeballs. I have always said having a nice leather jacket is a must in everyone’s closet, and I think it will be a huge step in my life when I buy that $900 beauty.
Today, we took a tour of Columbia College Chicago, went to the Chicago History Museum, and Argo Tea. Tonight we will see Wes Andersen’s new film: The Grand Budapest Hotel. I can’t wait! More photos to come throughout this week of the trip :)
