What a great weekend! Friday was my senior art show exhibit – pictures to be posted soon – and it went so well. It was First Fridays in the Crossroads Arts District, so my friends and I went down to the exhibit at Healthy Rivers Partnership and then walked around First Fridays. For dinner I was craving Pizzabella, which is always swamped on First Fridays, so I put my name down and was told it would be about an hour wait! With my connections (I used to work there) we were seated in 25 minutes and were giving the best service grace à Stephen, Meghan, and Hilary. ALSO, they have gluten free pizza now so I got to enjoy the delicious Bioncoverde Pizza instead of my usual Calamari Salad. It was a fantastic night to have the support of my close friends and have special treatment at one of KC’s best restaurants.
On Saturday, I had my first pool party of the season to celebrate my friend’s 18th birthday. I have two amazing swimsuits from Birdies, and decided to go with the jaw-dropping Clover Canyon one-piece. I got so many complements, and hit a new “high score” for Instagram likes ;). That night I enjoyed Taco Republic with my parents and watched the movie “The Way Way Back.” I loved it, and I highly recommend watching it if you are into buildings-romans (a coming of age story). Watching the movie made me want to go back to Martha’s Vineyard and ride my bike without my dorky helmet.
Sunday, I had shared a delicious brunch with a dear friend of mine at Chez Elle. Since she is vegan and I am gluten free, we have a limited list of restaurants to choose from together. Chez Elle now has GF and vegan crêpe batter! It was delicious and I couldn’t taste the difference (although I hadn’t had a regular crêpe since I indulged in NYC).
Everything just feels so symbolic about graduating high school and moving on…even if it isn’t.
Here are some photos of my outfit today; it’s so me.
