It’s hard to believe that such an amazing summer has come to an end. After spending 9 weeks in Malibu working as a camp counselor, I’ve come away with life long friends and as a better person. Being responsible for middle school girls 24/7 put me to the test, but those girls have given me love, patience, and the ability to be a true role model. It was the “summer of gratitude” and at first I thought that it was bullshit, but I truly learned that if you are grateful you can always be happy.
While I was at camp I found out that I got off the wait-list at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. It has been my dream school since probably age 11, and I’m psyched to go. The only catch is that…I don’t start until January for Spring semester. So this semester I plan on traveling with friends to places I have never been, documenting every step, keeping up my yoga, and continuing to practice my love of learning and French through online classes. In between travel I will work so that I can afford to travel, and through this I hope to become a more cultured and less ignorant human.
I don’t have a plan for the first time in my life, and it’s overwhelming, but knowing I have greatness ahead of me is all I need to remember.
